Draft for My favorite place

My room, the basketball court, and skate park are one of my most favorite places of mine. But out of the three, i have to say that the skate park is the best place i like to be at. The skate park is a place where skaters go to practice their skills and become a better skater. That is one of the reasons why i go there, but there are other resons why i like to go there.

My friends and I love going to the skate park and skate, but we don't just skate all day. Most of the time we just sit around talking story and just hanging out. I like to rest on the ramps and just listen to the wheels of other skateboards, and the popping of the skateboard. It amazes me how the older skaters do extreme and high flying tricks. It inspires me to do better.

The skate park is one of the places where i meet new people. The way i meet new people is either challenging them at a game of skate or just making conversation. This is how i got into filming, because one day, one of my friends, brought his camera and started filming and he posted the skate videos and i was shocked at what you can make with just skating.

This lovely skate park i go to is called A'ala Skate park, this place isn't just a regular skate park but a place where i meet new and interesting people, and a chill spot. A'ala skate park will be a very special and one of my most favorite places, for now.

Journal 9

The book "Wild Meat and the Bully Burgers" realtes to my identity because this is not just a proper english book but how some people in the Hawaiian islands talk, which is pidgin. I tend to talk pidgin from time to time. In the book there is a lot of pidgin, for example "I will work on my Gramma Spenca's pig farm when i grow up cuz she said i can drive slop truck. Tank you." In this book there's a teacher trying to correct how they speak and teach them how to speak proper english. I can relate to that because i had teachers who correct and taught me how to speak proper english.

Talkin pidgin is not the only thing i can relate to this book. i can also relate to how the main character lives. The character lives in Hawaii and so do I, and i know how hard it is to live in Hawaii. You have to work hard, the main character works on a plantation, and i work by cleaning a preschool everynight with my parents. This is how this book relates to me.

Draft

As i dragged myself into the house from a long day of school, a delightful tingling sensation flew up my nose. This spectacular smell brought me back memories from when i was a little boy. I instantly knew that my mom was cooking.
On my birthday my would always ask me "what do you want me to cook for you". But she doesn't let me answer because she already knows what i was about to say. It was as if she was psychic.
Before she goes and starts preparing this amazing dish, I ask if i could help. She always lets me help her in making her famous shanghai lumpia. Well, it's not really famous but it is to me. She would make me chop up all the vegtables, but my favorite part in making this is wrapping the meat with the lumpia wrap. when we are done wrapping, my mom goe on and fries the freshly wrapped lumpias. The smell of the frying lumpias are so mouth watering, i just can't wait to consume these delicious rolls.
I am always the first one at the table because i stay in the kitchen and watch her cook it. My lips and my mouth starts to get very moist as i stare at the big pile of lumpias stacked on a large plate. Luckily i manage to not grab one, because i want to be polite and wait for the others to get to the table. When everyone gathers at the kitchen table, this is when the fun beins.
I grab a handful of lumpias and put them right next to the big stack of rice on my plate. When i eat lumpias, especially my mom's, i eat like there's no tomorrow. I dont even realize that my relatives are watching me, because i feel like nothing else exists but me and my food. Sadly, when i am done with my food, i give my mother a big hug and big smooch on the cheek and say thank you for this wonderful meal.
